BEACHES AND TRAILS
Big River: Big river beach is the largest beach in Mendocino. From the beach there is a hiking trail that follows the river for 8 miles!
Portugese Beach and Mendocino Headlands State Park: A smaller beach, but a local favorite just off the Mendocino Headlands Trailhead. Very close to the house.
Mendocino Art Center: There is gallery which hosts local shows as well as a schedule of art classes that are offered year round.
Catch-A-Canoe: Perfect for a day on Big River.
Sweetwater Inn and Spa: Come here for a relaxing hot tub and massage!
RESTAURANTS AND CAFES
Cafe Beaujolais: A renowned french restaurant for a nice lunch or dinner out.
Frankies Pizza: Gourmet pizza to stay or go. Walking distance (like everything) to the house. Best ice cream in town and gluten free offerings too!
Mendocino Cafe: eclectic offerings from thai burritos to clam chowder with an ocean view.
Flow: A new addition to the Mendocino dining scene. Small plates. Best ocean-view dining in town.
Corners: This local health-food store is built in an old church with beautiful stained glass and all the healthy offerings one could want.
Harvest Market: A larger, yet still local grocery store for anything and everything.
